Bringing the Surinamese culture closer to Dutch people

Fernandes wanted to bring Surinamese culture closer to the Dutch people. In collaboration with Dentsu Achtung, Vi. created the online platform ‘Het Beste van Suriname’ which aims to connect Dutch people with the Surinamese culture.

A wide range of stories were featured, from food to music and from crafts to art.

The platform

The platform consisted of an interactive, playfully illustrated map of The Netherlands that includes markers on the country’s provinces, showing all stories related to it when clicked. Visitors were able to submit their own story which would be added to the map, making the user connect with the best Suriname has to offer.
